The Journal of Marine Environmental Policy & Governance (JMEPG) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal. All articles published in JMEPG are freely and permanently accessible to readers worldwide, without subscription or paywall barriers.
JMEPG is committed to the broad dissemination of marine environmental research, policy analysis, and governance scholarship to support evidence-based decision-making, inclusive participation, and sustainable ocean stewardship.

All open-access articles published in JMEPG are immediately and permanently free to read, download, copy, and share. Authors retain copyright to their work and grant JMEPG the right to publish and disseminate the article.

Article Processing Charges (APCs)
As an open-access journal with no subscription fees, the Journal of Marine Environmental Policy & Governance (JMEPG) applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) to support the costs associated with editorial management, peer review, copyediting, online hosting, and long-term digital archiving. This ensures that all published articles are immediately and permanently free to access for readers worldwide.

APCs are payable only after a manuscript has been accepted for publication. Charges may be covered by the author(s), their institution, or research funders.
JMEPG is committed to equitable and inclusive publishing. APC waivers or reductions may be considered for authors from low- and middle-income countries, early-career researchers, and unfunded research projects.
