User Rights

All open-access articles published in JMEPG are immediately and permanently free to read, download, copy, and share. Authors retain copyright to their work and grant JMEPG the right to publish and disseminate the article.
 

Authors may choose from the following Creative Commons licences, which define permitted reuse of published content:
 

Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial (CC BY-NC)

This licence allows users to:

• Copy and distribute the article

• Create adaptations, translations, or derivative works

• Include the article in collective works

• Text and data mine the article

These uses are permitted for non-commercial purposes only, provided users:

• Give appropriate credit to the author(s)

• Provide a link to the licence

• Indicate if changes were made

• Do not imply author endorsement of adaptations or modify the work in a way that harms the authors’ reputation

Article Processing Charges (APCs)

As an open-access journal with no subscription fees, the Journal of Marine Environmental Policy & Governance (JMEPG) applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) to support the costs associated with editorial management, peer review, copyediting, online hosting, and long-term digital archiving. This ensures that all published articles are immediately and permanently free to access for readers worldwide.

APCs are payable only after a manuscript has been accepted for publication. Charges may be covered by the author(s), their institution, or research funders.
 

JMEPG is committed to equitable and inclusive publishing. APC waivers or reductions may be considered for authors from low- and middle-income countries, early-career researchers, and unfunded research projects.

JMEPG seeks to minimise financial barriers to publication and actively works toward inclusive and accessible open-access publishing practices.

 

Author Rights

Authors publishing in JMEPG:

• Retain copyright of their work

• Grant JMEPG a non-exclusive licence to publish and distribute the article

• May share their published work freely in accordance with the selected Creative Commons licence

Responsible Sharing

Authors are encouraged to share their published articles responsibly through:

• Institutional repositories

• Personal or project websites

• Academic social networks

• Policy briefs and stakeholder communications

All sharing should include appropriate citation and licensing information.
